Cold-Blooded Murder: Confessions of a Believer!

4 Shares 4 Shares ×

[French Translation] [Spanish Translation] Life was zipping by in the fast lane. All was well. Ruby was still studying when she met her love of her life! She had everything a young woman could dream of. Soon they both were married.

Balanced between their honeymoon period and the rush of life, came their next big surprise. Though little in size, it was not something they were ready for – it was a baby.

Emotions swelled, fear crept in, anxiety increased. She had much education to complete still ahead. Her friends were all moving up the career ladder and were ‘making it big’. Her baby or her career? Why so soon? AHHH! she was now beginning to regret everything. She was too young for this, she believed.

Then that thought entered her mind. Take the easy way out. It would be easier to abort the baby than to abort her dreams. Seeing the stress that his wife was under, her equally burdened husband decided to support her with the move.

Few years later, she was done with her education and had established herself as an accomplished young lady. They felt they were now ready to have a baby. It did not take long to realize that something was not right. They tried for months together but she failed to conceive.

No treatments seem to help either. Almost a decade later – hope dwindled.

At this point, she met a missionary to whom she poured out her heart. She hoped they would pray for a breakthrough for them to have a child. But instead of praying, the missionary asked, “Have you repented to God for the murder?”

“Murder?” she questioned. She had been only few weeks old and the Doctor had said that it was ok. The missionary nodded her head sorrowfully, “One day, one week or a month does not matter, it was a life that Jesus planted inside you.”

Size is irrelevant to human personhood, as we know from the difference between a one-week-old and a six-year-old.

Hearing this, Ruby broke down crying. Sense kicked in. Yes, it was a baby. A real one. And she had killed it. A cold blooded murder, in the actual sense. For at that time they had no feelings of regret whatsoever.

After much repentance, she came back home to her husband. She narrated what happened. Conviction burst in her husband’s heart as well, “Yes, we did murder our baby. And we had not repented of that sin.” Both knelt down again and wept for a long time before God asking for His mercy.

Thankfully, Jesus still forgives, saves and loves because Jesus is still alive! In the ever loving arms of their Savior, they felt redeemed. To make the long story short, in a month’s time they got the news of their life! She was pregnant! It was a celebration of life and the forgiving power of Jesus.

Hearing this story was another mother who chipped in. “Oh, your story is nothing”, she said. “We’ve had 3 abortions. My husband and I were not prepared and my hubby thought it was best to abort the baby.” Shocked at what they were hearing, another lady quizzed her, “Did you not feel bad?” “Oh, everybody does it,” she replied. She went on to have children later in life and lived as if nothing happened, not understanding that they had murdered – in cold blood – three innocent precious gifts from God.

However, Ruby and her husband believe that God in His mercy shut the womb, simply to open their eyes to the truth for which they are forever grateful. They now live a blessed life with two great children!

But what troubles me is that there are people like the other woman, who’ve done that and yet live without any repentance and have hid their story under the carpet of circumstance.

We forget that fetal surgery is performed on babies in the womb to save them while another child the same age is being legally destroyed.

Here’s two things I want to say, if you are young and God has blessed you with a baby [IRRESPECTIVE OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES] remember, it is because God trusts you with the baby. What is happening in your womb is the unique person-nurturing work of God. Therefore only God has the right to give and take life.

Don’t ever abort your baby – the life God is trusting you with. He will give you the grace to see you through this phase of your life!

See two other stories that will encourage you:

1. Your Mess is Your Message – Sarah Henson

2. Don’t Terminate Your Baby!

Secondly, if you have already committed the sins we just read above – the sin of abortion, I hope this post will make you go on your knees, both you and your husband and if you are still single, I hope you go on your knees by yourself before Jesus, and repent with all your heart!

Jesus is a kind and compassionate Savior, ask Him to forgive you and He will forgive all your sins! He cares for you.

I want you to then believe with me, the best is yet to come! May God bless your heart.

Such a touching story and a must-read for everyone.  I recall a friend of mine whose husband was a merchant navy officer.  She was scheduled to join him on a cosy cruise for a couple of months.  They had no children at this time and this was her first ever voyage, but she soon discovered that she was pregnant with their first child.

Her hopes of sailing were shattered and she had gone for her first check up.  While she waited her turn, there were many mothers who were crying as they were not able to conceive and tears filled her eyes and she immediately asked the Lord to forgive her and she went ahead and had the baby.

Children are a heritage from the Lord and may this post be a blessing to many.

I know of a person who had to abort her baby because she was raped.. Can that be considered right?

    • http://www.shyjumathew.com/blog Shyju Mathew

Why would you kill the baby for the crime of the father? It’s still a baby, a life in the womb!

    • http://www.facebook.com/jo.ctc Josephine Ctc

The father is the one who is guilty. Why should the innocent child face the consequences? The little baby did nothing deserving death.

Woooow I pray that the Holy Spirit will convict those who have done it knowingly and unknowingly & they will also not live under guilt anymore, but know that Jesus will forgive if they truly repent.

Thank u Shyju for this post. What about family planning???? How about to plan ones baby by taking medical precautions.??????

    • http://www.pastorpriji.com Priji

Hello ruby, family planning with the use of contraceptives is not wrong, nor are birth control pills. However doing anything to terminate a conceived life is surely a sin! That includes the use of pills that will terminate the pregnancy. Hope that clears.

It was just after 3 months after our wedding that I conceived and it came as big surprise for us as we were not ready for it so early. The moment we came to know about it, I cried so bitterly and hid the matter from our dear ones for 3-4 days. The thought of abortion did come to my mind too .I knew it was sin but I refused to listen to the TRUTH) But thankfully abortion is totally banned in the place wheret we live in and we cudn’t think of a reason to come to India for this. Three days later I spoke to my mom about my pregnancy and she explained how blessed I was to conceive. And it was then I realized on what a cruel thought had crossed my mind. Immediately I burst into tears and myself along with my husband knelt down before God and cried and sought forgiveness from Him for having entertained such a thought. And we also dedicated our baby to the One who planted the seed. Now we realize of how blessed we are having him in our life. We named him Nathan meaning ‘God gave’ because it is HE who gave him to us as it was His plan. And its so exciting to watch him grow day by day.He has been a source of joy to the whole family.
Now as parents our only desire for him is that he has to grow up be an evangelist- a man of God ..he has to know Jesus as early as possible ..we believe that God has a great plan for our son.

I pray for all the women that they would change their heart and views on this, who are forced to take such a complex decision, not realizing that God had a plan for the baby and He could have taken care of both with a better lives.

I want to ask a question. If you know someone who is planning to abort a baby, is there a way to change their mind when they are completely determined to do so?

    • kimkumar

We cant, but God can. Proverbs 21:1 says The heart of a king is in the hands of the Lord and He can change direct it like a watercourse wherever it pleases..Of course God may use us to do this. Even if the person is determined, Josephine please do try all that you can to stop this sin from happening…fight in prayer and action..just prayed for this..

Anyone reading this article should also read about soul ties. From personal expierence, when I was lost I thought I found my “soul mate.” Waiting until marriage was not part of my thought process but having a family was. When she told during “relations” that whatever happened we would take care of it, I thought in my troubled mind that if she did get pregnant we would be a family. The day she brought the pregnancy test home was supposed to be the greatest day, but when I looked on her face and heard er say she couldn’t have a child now, it destroyed me. I didn’t want the abortion, but went ahead and approved and paid for it. The hardest part was truly asking for forgiveness. I know God has forgiven me, but after reading your articles I now have more perspective on how I lived without Christ and how lost I truly was. I pray that God continues to shine His light thru you on these difficult subjects

Wow I don’t know why my teared up but I pray this prayer for u that the Lord will cause u to draw near to Him, that u will be restored&healed of all rejections, that u might be a vessel in His hands for His glory. Sincerely.
