Oasis Podcast – Episode #005 (20:57). In this podcast, I want to discuss the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit take the wheel in your life and how it can impact all other areas, just as He has in mine. I received breakthrough in my relationship with the Holy Spirit when I realized that I had to revere the Holy Spirit as much as I revered Jesus. Ever since, my walk with God has never been the same again.

Acknowledging the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit will teach you everything that you don’t know. Be it finances or businesses, provided it brings glory to Jesus. Everything the Holy Spirit does is to reflect Jesus.

Holy-Spirit-directed

Let’s ask Him to take over everything. As long as we have the reins of our lives in our hands, the Holy Spirit does not move. [ClickToTweet]

The beauty of the person of the Holy Spirit is that He does not control us instead He waits for us. This is all the more a reason to welcome and pause to ask Him what He wants to do in that moment.

Addressing the Holy Spirit

As a practical exercise, we should commune with the Holy Spirit daily saying, “Holy Spirit, I love you. I worship you”. In the beginning it might be hard because we are not trained to do this but over the course of time, you will begin to recognize His voice. Maybe you don’t hear anything or get an inspiration; you keep going even if you don’t hear it at the first time. He is one with Jesus and the Father so when the Holy Spirit becomes alive and manifest in your life, that’s when you hear His voice and know His direction.

Breakthrough comes when you pause and let the Holy Spirit lead you.

Allowing Him to Guide You

You may not hear an audible voice. It could be a soft unction in your spirit but to be sensitive to it you have to walk in continual fellowship with Him. We need to come to a place of constant surrender. Die to yourself and expose your heart to Him. In absolute vulnerability and surrender, the Holy Spirit will brood over us.

Unlike the Old Testament where the only the prophet heard from God, we know and in these times God will pour out His Spirit on all flesh. The very fact that you even desire for it shows that God is in it. Your desire to know God, is God drawing you to walk with Him. [ClickToTweet]

It is in that love relationship that you will begin to hear his voice. “God never stops speaking to us. It is us who stop listening.” [ClickToTweet] Don’t pursue the voice. Pursue the person that the Holy Spirit is. When we know God, His voice becomes clearer. [ClickToTweet]

Holy Spirit wants to be your friend. He is God and because of that sometimes we tend to keep ourselves at a distance from him. Yet the Bible tells us that Jesus prayed that we might become one just like He and the Father are one.

You must become like a child and come to a place of love. Be in a place of unbroken communication with the Holy Spirit. Allow Him lead you even as your reading this post.
