Overcoming Frustration, With God

One of the most daunting task after we moved to Canada was the grocery shopping. Without exaggeration, it took me close to an hour to finish the list. And when I emerged out of the store, I felt like a boxing champion.

Endless aisles of products of the same kind with a hundred different labels didn’t make any sense to me. I just needed curd, don’t ask me if I want 0% or 12% or vanilla or special made and extra specially made- just give me my curd!

Frustration increased when I had to stroll through the whole grocery store of the size of a football field dozens of times because I didn’t know where to find what.

Fast forward: Six months later: I just finished my grocery and the same list took me about 14mins in and out!! No more stress, no more screaming at the hundreds of labels, I knew what I wanted, I knew where to find it and I was out.

Just reminds me of how Christian life is. The more we familiarize ourself with the Word of God and immerse ourselves in prayer, the more His voice becomes very clear.

However, if you limit yourself to God’s word occasionally and use prayer ‘traditionally’, then you will be like me going round and round in the grocery store, frustrated and exhausted.

Life of daily surrender

Similarly, there is no need for us to feel frustrated with God. The key is to not wait for the day of encounter with God, rather it is to prepare yourself everyday as if that was the day of encounter. Stop and ponder, it’s not that God is unwilling to help but that we are not available to learn and do it His way.

Speaking to a young man recently I advised, weep before God like never before for His mercy and tell Him that you will continue to love Him irrespective of how life goes. And we know that God has promised to give us grace and mercy in the time of our need.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Heb 4:16

It is therefore imperative that we humble ourselves before God, expose our vulnerabilities before His presence, confess our sins and lay it all down at His feet. There is nothing greater that we can do than surrendering at His feet. AND make it daily!

I’ll leave you with these two statements: the more we immerse ourselves in the Word of God and prayer, the more we know His voice.[Click to tweet] For God to reveal His heart and hand in your life, take instruction from Him every moment of the day. [Click to tweet]

Be blessed my dear friend!
