One of the great God’s Generals of our time, Evangelist Billy Graham, passed into glory at age 99 on February 21, 2018. Since 1947, over 215 million people in over 400 crusades and evangelistic rallies have been touched with the gospel through his ministry.
It is estimated one in six Americans heard the gospel through Rev. Billy Graham and hundreds of thousands across the world have been saved through this humble man’s vibrant zeal for Jesus Christ. Billy Graham preached his last crusade in 2005 in New York and his sermons were published. However, they requested Billy Graham to write some closing thoughts for the book, under the heading. In his eulogy of his dad in USA Today, Franklin Graham graciously shared his dad’s final words.:
“No matter what your problem is,” he wrote, “if you and I could sit down and talk, I would want to tell you one great truth: God loves you, and He can make a difference in your life if you will let Him.
“God loves you so much that He sent His Son into the world to die for your sins. When we open our hearts to Christ, He forgives our sins and comes to live within us by His Holy Spirit. He also gives us strength for the present and hope for the future. This is the message of the Gospel — and this is the message you have read in this book.”
Then, Franklin remarked, “If my father could speak or write to us today, he would say the same thing. It was what he lived and breathed — until his very last breath.”(USA Today, Feb 21/18)
Revive Nations salutes the glorious life of Reverend Billy Graham, a mighty man of God. May Almighty God raise our generation to be as humble and loyal as this man, and may his mantle to reach the lost be taken up by this next generation, in greater ways never yet seen, to the glory of our King.
