If only they see how good my preaching is.
If only they give me a chance to worship lead.
If only I get an opportunity for a TV interview.
If only I have a better website.
We live in a time when everything is about the right contact, connections and networking. So much so that we walk around with pockets full of business cards.
Now think about how many people promoted, connected and networked for the ministry of Jesus.
The ministry of Jesus was unheard of for the first 30 years of His life. And the only acknowledgment, promotion or acceptance that Jesus had was from the Father that He was His beloved Son.
Your greatest connection is your obedience to the Father in heaven. The only network you need is heaven’s network. And everything else will follow.
So today, reject that impulse to make people your God. Stop waiting for people to promote you. Once you stop waiting for ‘Mr. Overflowing Pockets’ to fund your ministry – then you can actually get around to obeying God.
