How to Function Like God

Jesus said to the Pharisees, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said, you are gods’? (John 10:34)

Given their training, the Pharisees would have known Jesus was quoting Ps 82: 6 I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you;.

Jesus continued, If He called them gods to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be broken—do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? (John 10: 35-36)

Most Christians, when they read this passage, would simply nod their heads and agree, that yes, Jesus is God. He is the Son of God.

Yet, the Scripture says ye are gods! Yes, you!

Ps 82:6-7 clearly states: I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.

From the very beginning, God made us in His image and His Likeness (Genesis 1:29).

So why the struggle with”Ye are gods”?

Perhaps the bigger question is since God made us sons of the Most High, why we are not functioning as God?

We are Sons of the Most High

When Jesus came to earth, Hebrews 2:9 states “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour, that He, by the grace of God should taste death for every man.” Our Lord Jesus tasted death for everyone! This is our King of all Kings! He deserves all our worship for eternity!

Just like Jesus when He came to earth, as humans, we are a little lower than the angels. Our bodies have limitations. If we are cut, we bleed. If we trip, we may fall. We are finite, made of flesh and blood.

Still, angels desire to look into the salvation which we have in Jesus.

1 Pet 1:12 states, It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look.

Angels are curious about the mysteries we know about Jesus! They long to understand how we carry this revelation of God.

By function, angels are superior. They fly swiflty, move through matter, change dimensions. Yet by our position in Christ, we have the greater authority.

Do we know who we are? Does our life, our choices, our worlds we have created reflect this truth that we are to function like God?

“You shall die like Men and fall like Princes.”

As a son of the Most High, we are no longer men, nor mere princes. (This is where theologians might run in every direction.)

The problem is not in how God made us. The Word states we are gods, sons of the Most High God!

The problem is our belief, or lack there of it. If we believe in who we are in God, and what He has said, then we will function like God!

Faith: Substance formed by the Word

By faith we understand that the universe was created by the Word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. ( Hebrews 11:3)

Our Lord Jesus said that those whom God called as gods, are those to whom the Word of God came. (John 10:36).

When the Word of God comes into our spirit, that Word becomes the substance to manifest the Godzone, who we truly are, as we have faith in the Word that has come!

The Word is the frame, the substance to make things that are invisible, manifest visible. This is how we function as God.

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

When God creates a world, He uses the Word. The invisible Word frames the world God creates and makes visible. God always uses the invisible to make the visible. By faith, the Word inside of our spirit will manifest the evidence of things unseen! Though our soul may want proof, it is the invisible Word in our spirit that brings forth the evidence of things not yet seen!

Faith creates substance that the world says does not exist. When we function like God, we frame the worlds we create by faith in the Word that has come.

As God releases the Word to create substance inside each of us, He gives us the capacity to function like God! Faith is our key to access the Godzone, like the great Generals of God whom have gone before us! We will become the proof of the Hand of God on this earth!

We are surrounded by a Cloud of Witnesses, Sons of the Most High

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. (Hebrews 12:1)

Hebrews 11 is a testimony of the many mighty men and women in the Scriptures who functioned like God.

By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him (Hebrews 11:5)

How did Enoch function in the Godzone?

By faith, Enoch pursued the Lord with diligence and functioned like God!

Likewise, Noah operated by the Word that came to him.There was no proof that existed of the flood, yet by faith, Noah built the ark. He and his family lived while all others perished! Noah manifested the Godzone!

As we look to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Daniel, Ezekiel, just to name a few, we witness how they functioned as God upon the earth. As the Word came to these generals, by faith, they made the invisible Word manifest as visible reality on earth!
