This blog is going to make statements that I may have avoided making at the “Guarding The Heart Blog“. But it is necessary that I do this. We, leaders, can handle some tough meat, can’t we?

These posts may be long or short, but it’s all going to be from my heart. Jump on board right here, subscribe and get this in your inbox as and when it is posted.

Why People Don’t Matter [the Most]?

Each and every celebrity in the entertainment industry is fuelled by the acceptance of people. What moves them most is their fan following and acceptance from their critics.

But for a leader in Jesus, to be fuelled by praises of people is to be terminated by their criticism. [ClickToTweet]

What must matter most to us is not the joy of the people, but to see the Father smile.

What must matter most is not that the people have accepted us, but that we have made God proud.

What must matter most is not that we are successful in the eyes of the world, but that we are in the center of the will of God.

When people matter the most, you put yourself in danger of burnout. You can never give enough. But when you trust God’s purposes more than people’s needs and strictly follow His assignment for your life then there will you find rest and strength.

As much as we think we exist because of the people, the truth is that we are first God’s arms and voice. A revelation of that will change how you see yourself and not just a leader of the people. Therefore, guard your heart from what you pursue. Because what you pursue is what you worship.
