Sermons are different from speeches. Let me rephrase that. Sermons must be different from an orchestrated speech.

A speech is an intelligent preparation by the speaker. But sermons must be an inspired word from God received by the speaker.

We should note that the Bible as a book does not scare the enemy. It is the holiness in it that bothers the devil. That holiness in the Bible is made manifest when a child of God abides in it. In doing so, we begin to hear the spoken Word of God.

That’s it! That’s the key. It’s only the spoken Word of God that has the power to revive, renew and restore the hearer.

There are points that are discovered through research, circumstances and experience. Then there is a word that is birthed in your spirit by sitting at the feet of Jesus. Pursue the latter. Everything else is perishable.

Best sermons are baked with prayer, groaning, fasting and resting in God. They will deposit in the one who eats of it an eternal hunger for Jesus. So, don’t wait for the moment but run to the heaven’s kitchen everyday!
