The Church Must Be Fed-Up | Power Nuggets

"Experience the Word of God, in the power of the Spirit."

April 2, 2012

Note: I feel like the song writer, “Words are all I have…” to empower your heart for Jesus. As and when inspired, I will be adding a new line of posts called Power Nuggets for Tuesdays with no more than 350 words.(Alongside Thirsty Thursdays and Simple Sunday posts.) You are reading the first of those posts. Enjoy, comment & share.

What was it about the New Testament church that their prayers shook the earth while ours shake only the sound boxes?

What was it about the New Testament church that their songs broke chains while ours only break guitar strings?

Their words were with power, exactly like their Master giving sight to the blind, freeing the oppressed & raising the dead.

While all we have today are well-orchestrated conferences and meetings every Sunday & other days occasionally, as it fits our schedule.

The answer is not so sophisticated for us to understand. But we must want to understand.

The truth is that we are not as devoted as the early church.

Observe their passion, their commitment:

“But we will DEVOTE ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word.”

Acts 6:4

“And they DEVOTED themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

Acts 2:42

It was their daily life that revolved around God not God revolving around their daily life.

Therefore God got the priority EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. of their lives.

It’s interesting how we want what they had but won’t do what they did!

They were devoted to meet daily to fellowship and to study the Word of God and to prayer and worship! While we are today devoted to our jobs, houses, cars, career, Facebook & the likes.

The disciples pursued what they loved. And because what they  pursued were the things of the above, the power of God was as real as their love for Him!

Who has known the mind of the Lord? To whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed in this generation?

There must be more than this! And unless we are fed-up with powerless Christianity, we will be fed-up with struggling to pay our church building expenses.

I am fed up.

Are you fed up yet?

Let’s throw EVERYTHING ELSE aside and pursue God in this generation!
