Last night, I was talking on the phone with a young man who I believe has a leadership calling for our generation. As I prayed for him, my spirit wept. I felt the Holy Spirit was grieving for this generation. I wept because I heard the Spirit saying, “We are not listening.”
We are not listening to Him. Our hearts are not still.
We are so lost and consumed in our own world, that all that is left about God in our lives is meager crumbs! When He should be holding the reins of our lives, all that we have to offer to Him is a corner chair to watch as we run our life’s show.
The Spirit of God is waiting to use this generation like never before, but He wants us to surrender ourselves completely to Him.
For God to reign in our lives, we need to die to ourselves. Great moves of God happened every time there was someone willing to surrender all to His will. In this act of complete and selfless surrender, Holy Spirit will take hold of our life. Let Him have His way!
Many times, we are driven by our selfish ambitions, dreams and accomplishments and we try to use it to prove our so called ‘worth’, when all that we need to do is to lay it all down at His feet, pick up the Cross and follow Him.
We need to pray to God saying, “My ambitions, dreams, desires, needs, wants, will, ego, character, in fact, every atom of my being, I surrender! May the Lord have complete control oover every part of my life, that I may cease and He would reign. When it is no more my will but His, no more may the world hold me, not by the shining stars of fame, nor by the glittering riches that fade. May there be nothing but Christ in me, that they will see me no more, but Christ in me!”
Is there any area of your life that you are struggling to let go off?
“I would cease and He would reign” – Why not make this the prayer of your life?
