Receive Correction from Jesus to Shine Bright!

"Experience the Word of God, in the power of the Spirit."

February 10, 2024

In 2024, this Year of Governance, we are called to govern our world, to rule and reign by the power of Christ!

As Jesus declares, ” You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Mathew 5:14) In a world full of turmoil, it is our time to shine.

Truly, the quality, intensity, capacity and effectiveness of our light, depends greatly on our ability to receive correction from Jesus. When we joyfully submit to the now Word of God, we run into our freedom and shine bright!

How to Shine Bright

Light shines brightest in the darkness.  As the world grows darker, we, the Church must arise and shine, for our Light has Come!

Yet how?

Our starting place must always be at the Feet of Jesus, where we allow the Word to correct us. When we bring our sin to Jesus, repenting for our every darkness, His Light is not longer buried under the layers of our self. As we die to our sin, to our cravings, and refuse these idols, His Light bursts through our broken lives!

Corrections Makes Us Shine Bright

Jesus doesn’t reject or scold, shame us or humiliate us, when we bring Him our sin. Our beloved Saviour, who bled and died in hope for each of us, longs only for us to be embraced in the deep unfathomable love of the Father. This powerful perfect Jesus, forgives us freely at the great cost of His own Blood.

Let His mercy astound us!

Like the adulterous woman, bound in the dirt before Him, Jesus tenderly frees us and requests only that we sin no more.

When we fix our eyes on the Word, when we surrender our lives to His living Word, Jesus will penetrate our every darkness with His love.

Consider Your Teachers

And though the Lord gives you
The bread of adversity and the water of affliction,
Yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore,
But your eyes shall see your teachers
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying,
“This is the way, walk in it,”
Whenever you turn to the right hand
Or whenever you turn to the left.
You will also defile the covering of your images of silver,
And the ornament of your molded images of gold.
You will throw them away as an unclean thing;
You will say to them, “Get away!”  – Isaiah 30: 20-22

God has given us teachers to lead us in His ways and bring us to freedom. Our teachers introduce us to a limitless God. With the living now Word, this life-giving teaching releases instructions designed to transform each of us into rulers, supernatural kings and priests unto God.

To shine bright, we must guard our hearts, and not allow other voices to be our teachers. If we allow the world to be our teacher, then confusion, misery and distraction will dull our light, weaken our faith, fill us with darkness. Yet when we clearly see, hear and obey, we shine bright!

Jesus brings us a customized Word for our freedom through the teachers whom He has given.  What excellent grace, what powerful truths we enjoy, as the Lord feeds us carefully, week after week, through the teachers whom He has given us! Here, we can rightly see where the idols are still present in our life, and recognize when our light has been dimmed.

Flee from Excuses: Mark Sin as Death

When we perfectly depend with our everything on the grace of our loving God, as we confess our sin, own it, reject it and refuse any excuse for it, we receive the Word. We receive Christ.

It is essential we do not excuse our darkness, or try to pin it on our fathers or our past traumas.  We must repent honestly, stating, “This is my sin, Lord Jesus!  Oh forgive me for my sin, for my own doing, I blame no one for this sin but me.”

To shine bright, as we look steadily in the eyes of our Lord Jesus, His mercy will dispel our every darkness.

As the Lord showcases His love for us, we learn what is truly valuable, and then, we will assign everything else the negative value it deserves.

Arise, Fly, Shine Bright!

The Word carries instructions, gives us the power and grace to walk away from every claim the enemy has, to run into the freedom Jesus has won for us.

When we allow the Word of God to correct us, to heal us and wash us clean of our sinful thoughts and wicked mindsets, we shine brighter and brighter!

Let us value only what God values, and hate what God hates.

May we cling to the Word and be filled to overflow with the Light of Christ, that those in darkness may see a great light!

Church, it’s our time to shine bright, with the Glory of Christ within us.
