The Cricket and the Church

"Experience the Word of God, in the power of the Spirit."

This is the first time when I did pay attention to the unavoidable cricket mania.

The people were euphoric.

It seemed like they themselves had played the game; as if they had hit the sixes; they had struck those boundaries. And as if they had bowled them all out. Strangers hugging strangers out of the joy of the win. It couldn’t get any crazier!

I wish church was like this. People shouting, cheering, rejoicing over someone else winning souls, taking the devil down and churches growing. Evidently, that is not the state of the church today. Insecurity has stopped them from enjoying their brother’s “robe of many colors”.

Unlike cricket which brings all kinds of people together; right from celebrities to officials to the daily wage worker, we can’t get all our leaders in one place with one heart for one purpose. How then can we expect a revival to breakout?

I dream of a day when the government will give national holidays over a revival. The day when the pilot announces about revival like how they did about the cricket score!

As crazy as it sounds, I believe God is raising a generation that is set apart for him that will bring nations down for the glory of God!

Let’s get to work my friends. The harvest is plenty!

What say?
