Will Mr. Nice Guy Go to Heaven?

The ‘Mr. Nice Guy’ video is a beautiful animated explanation reminding us that none of us are ‘nice’ enough to earn eternity for ourselves in heaven, if it was not for Jesus.

The video features a Mr. (Really!) Nice guy, who is so good as per the world standards, that his goodness might as well nominate him the right to enter heaven first.

But hold on! Aren’t God’s standards different from the world’s standards?

Zap to reality

What if a chip was made to record all of Mr. Nice Guy’s private thoughts and it was played on a giant screen for all his folks to see? It would be embarrassing to say the least.

To explain using numbers; if Mr. Nice Guy commits a minimum of 5 sins a day and lives for 70 years, he would have 127,000+ sins to his credit, all of which he would be held accountable for on Judgment Day.  For we know that God is holy and righteous; He hates sin and equates it with hell.

Mr. Nice Guy weighs his life against the Word of God and realizes that he is not that nice after all. (Romans 3:23)

Do you identify yourself with Mr. Nice Guy?

Good news: Jesus made the way

But here’s the good news: God made a way for us through his son Jesus, who came down to earth and paid the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross and defeated death by rising up again for eternity.

No one can earn eternity for themselves, but it’s God’s gift to all who humble themselves and come to Jesus (Romans 6:23).

Open invitation from Jesus

Salvation is freely available to anyone who will trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. When you come to Jesus, He will forgive you, wash you clean, and give you a new heart with new desires.

So stop living for yourself; turn from your sins and come to Jesus. Study the Bible, find a good church to help you grow, and then go out and tell others the good news!
