Recently Readers, at RNGC, we have been studying James 1:2-4:
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Imagine, there is a knock at the door. You go to open it and are surprised to find Trial on your threshold.
What is your response?
Do you cringe, close the door and hope that temptation will pass you by? Or do you count it all joy, for you know that Patience will do her PERFECT work in your life?
Here are 5 keys for Victory when trials or temptation arrive to challenge:
Key #1 – Function from Victory
As Jesus lovers, we do not function to victory, we function from victory!
How is this possible?
It is the anointing we carry. In Christ, we are anointed. The Spirit of God is within us!
Just as Jesus began His ministry by announcing, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me” (Luke 4:18), so too, as the anointed ones, we have certain victory! With the Spirit of God upon us, we have everything we could ever need to solve the problems and trials we will face.
Victory is certain because the Victor is within us! However, we must allow Patience to do her work!
Key # 2 – Trust the Oil We have been Given
1 John 2:27 But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie- just as it has taught you, abide in him.
Apostle John gave clear counsel to his church: 1. Guard your hearts from every other voice and 2. Recognize the power of the anointing that had been imparted.
When we tap into the anointing by faith, this oil inside us, it will teach us everything we need to do what we are called to do! As we trust the oil, which the Lord has so mercifully given, the anointing will transform our lives! The anointing is our key to usher in dominion into every area of our life!
Key # 3 Welcome Trials as Training.
When trials come, we have a divine opportunity to learn how the anointing in our life works.
With every battle we win, our spiritual rank increases. The way God establishes His children is to send us battles, to face diverse temptations and trials.
Like David, we must first face the bear and win, before we can face the lion. Each battle prepares us for the next one. For David to fight Goliath, he had to first, face many smaller battles in preparation. (To hear a powerful word on this subject, head to this video by Mama Tiny, How to Recognize Heart Vacuums).
As we allow the superior part of us, our spirit man, to illuminate the lesser part of us, our soul, we grow from victory to victory! Just let patience do its work!
Key #4 – Respond with Joy
In life, we only have 2 directions when trials come: downward or forward:
Downward – This spiral is catapulted by condemnation, loaded with unforgiveness, a broken place where failures become too personal and pity parties don’t stop. Face down is not an option!
Forward – When we let Patience have her perfect work, we emerge from trials victorious. As we trust God, and lean on this anointing, patiently waiting, we win. Rise up, beloved one! You are made to fly!
Key # 5 – Let Pain Teach
The testing of patience produces pain, but we must not run away from it. Pain produces discomfort, but in this tutelage, we learn. We have to trust the process. As Patience makes us perfect, we become whole. Wanting nothing, we move forward and upward in spiritual growth. (To learn more about How to Change your Wilderness Season, click here.)
Beloved, the anointing we carry will create answers for every problem with certain victory!
As we trust the Grace that has been imparted, may the testing of our faith produces miracles!
