Have you read the story of the Prodigal (Luke 15) and ever wondered what happened? One father, two sons. One son a seed, and the other, a weed?
How about Father Abraham? This same man of God fathered an Isaac who laid himself down as sacrifice in obedience to his father’s command, and an Ishmael, who harassed the heir of promise and was thrown out of his father’s camp!
Or what of Peter and Judas? Both walked with Jesus Christ. Both forsook their Master. Both men heard the teachings of Jesus, saw His miracles, and witnessed the power of God daily for three years, yet one chose death, even as the other repented and arose to his destiny.
Apostle Paul well knew the fickle heart of man. He urged us to be mindful of the strategies of the enemy, “so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs” (2 Corinthians 2:11).
The truth is, Satan will do everything he can to fight God in you!
Three Major Battles the enemy uses to try and take a believer down include:
- Take you Far Enough Away to Resist Returning to the Father (Run Home!)
- Make you Believe a Lie to doubt the Goodness of God and put Fear in you (Refuse the Lie!)
- Hijack you to fight God by your Disobedience to His Commands as you befriend the world (Fear God!)
