Early in the morning, I felt the Lord leading us to come together in Bangalore. But I do not believe that this move is limited to Bangalore. I believe the Holy Spirit is raising many faithful people to pray for their cities and nation!
Hoping against hope, I’ve believed God for a revival in our nation. And the reality is simple, that it is not easy and simple.
Truth is this, there are no shortcuts to Revival. Revival has just one formula: “Our knees hits the ground, tears running down our face while our hearts turn in repentance towards the heaven.” That has been in use from Acts chapter one! And I believe it is time we forget every other strategy and go back to the beginning of the Acts!
Here are some amazing observations before the out-pour of the Pentecost:
a) The disciples of Jesus walked a day’s journey to get to Jerusalem! (Acts1:12) – Do we get tired to go to Church because of bad traffic?
b) As soon as they got back, they went up to the upper room straight away! (Acts1:13) You couldn’t find another group of such focused people!
c) They were all in one accord and devoted themselves to pray! (Acts 1:14) The word devoted means, giving all or a large part of one’s time or resources to something or someone. It’s good to ask ourselves, where do we devote our large part of our time?
d) They were all together in one place and in one accord. (Acts1:1,2) They had no different agendas. They were united together. Of course that needs love! And they were in one heart seeking God!
There it was then, the Lord moved upon them mightily.
What stops us from this? What stops us from coming together and praying for our cities and nation!
This June 12th 2011, we want to do our first prayer of, “Back To Acts” in Bangalore. But I’m going to encourage you that whichever city or country you are in, join us on the same day evening, your time, to seek the Lord with whoever is willing.
Back to Acts is a call for the Church to get united and get back to where it all started – it started with prayer. It started with 120 of them praying together! Let’s then just simply get back to it! 100 or 20, does not matter, its your heart burning for Jesus that matters!
We have few friends outside the city that would like to come down too joining us in prayer and worship. We would like to simply focus on, “The Fire of Intercession and the Fragrance of Worship.” Different church worship leaders are participating to ask Lord to visit our city. I encourage you to do the same for your city!
May God visit your city and your nation through you! Don’t you forget, Revival Starts In You!
