No to Revolution in the Church!

Shyju Mathew

"Experience the Word of God, in the power of the Spirit."

April 19, 2015

The task is not easy. Submission takes dying. System requires shuffling. People lack love. Leaders miss communication. Emotions run high.

With all that and more, God is not searching for revolution, He is looking for revival through renewal.

Yes, we are inspired by great revolutions and non-violent movements but this is the Body of Christ we are talking about.

Revolution is forcibly overthrowing a social order in favour of another system. That’s God’s job! And what won’t change, God has the power to remove and He will remove those that don’t repent, as He has always done.

But there should be no more bloodshed because of us! Christ already bled for us on the cross. [tweet this] The need of the hour is that we must prayerfully unite, even if it takes a life time.

You cannot heal the Body of Christ by going against it. [tweet this]

The Body of Christ is no battle ground. And the Body(is unlike the spiritual darkness) can only heal thought persistent love and prayer for the bride of Christ.

It’s not the person that you fight against. What’s happening in your church, organization or denomination are spiritual battles that are to be won on your knees and with your heart.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 ESV

[3] For though we walk in the flesh, we are not waging war according to the flesh. [4] For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. [5] We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ…

1 Corinthians 13:8 ESV

[8] Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

So then that leaves us with talking, loving and praying. Then some more talking and praying and loving and doing that all over again. Trust God to revive, renew and restore without trusting the arm of flesh.

Say NO to the spirit of division and YES to unity that precedes revival, a revival born on our knees. [tweet this]

Peace.
