Fixed Assets: How to Access Glory

O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. Psalm 108:1

Fixed assets are the burning buzzword in the investment world these days. Yet how can we secure our treasure in Heaven’s accounting? By fixing our heart on God.

David, broken as he was, understood this Truth: When our hearts stay fixed on God, with ridiculous trust in His Goodness, then worship arises with ease and glory remains our portion.

If this is crucial for the Kingdom, how do we keep our heart fixed? Here are 3 powerful secrets to stay superglued to life in the Kingdom of God:

  1. Keep our Roots Fixed in Trust in God
  2. Keep our Identity in Christ Alone – Once a Son, Always a Son
  3. Crave Only God

Staying Rooted in Trust

We know the world is in constant upheaval these days, but anxiety has hit the church like a virus. Global fears dominate our airwaves, affecting many either consciously or subconsciously, so when crisis hits, fear is now causing many to flee.

Are we steady in trust?  Do we depend with confidence on God to protect and care for us, His Children?  Or are we waiting for harm, predicting injury, imagining future ailments?

No matter what the excuses, anxiety is eating away at Christians all around the globe. The truth remains: fear is the opposite of faith.  Fear eats at our foundation, erodes our testimony and exposes the true state of our doubting heart.  We have to recognize it is impossible to trust God and remain anxious at the same time.Protect your assets. Fix your heart on Him!

We can only choose one state of being, so let’s choose to believe EVERY Word our God has spoken and believe in Him, NO MATTER WHAT!

Self- Identified: Christ in You

When we walk into a room, do we know Who we walk with?  Or are we too convinced by the enemy’s constant barrage of accusation to think clearly?

Do we understand that once and for all, Christ died for our sins, and that He, who had no sin, BECAME sin, so that we could BECOME the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God (2 Cor. 5:21)?

Can we rest in His finished work on that Cross? Do our lives reflect this freedom, that the Son of Man came to SEEK and SAVE the lost (Luke 19:10), and now we are FOUND in HIM, we may live FREE indeed?  Or do we keep wondering if God really loves us because of this sin and that failure and this wound and that sorrow?

Friend, if ever there was a time to secure yourself to God’s total love for you, and your relationship as His Child, it is now. Stop living as a worm and arise as a Son!

Once a Son, Always a Son

If you are a child of a baker, you are a baker’s son.  You may fail at baking, but you are still a baker’s son. So what about the angels in Heaven?

In Job 2:1-2,  it says “the angels came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came with them to present himself before him. And the Lord said to Satan, “Where have you come from?”

Satan, who should not even have been able to breach Heaven’s doors, strolled into the meeting with boldness, and God, who never budges in His principles, still spoke with him, saying, “Have you considered my servant Job?” (Job 1:8, Job 2;3), not because Satan earned any access, but because the relationship given was not removed, despite Satan’s fall!

Do we treasure that through Christ we are sons of God? Paul says to the Galatians, “Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”(Gal. 4:6)

Since this is true, how do we live in this God-given authority? Do we act as His sons? Do we have dominion as His kings and priests on the earth? Or have we allowed the inward lies of rejection and insecurity to hinder our destiny?

It does not matter what foolish choices we have made, how many times the enemy taunts us with our past, what regrets we may have! If we are washed by the Blood of the Lamb, we are indeed the righteous sons of God, light as Christ is Light! Every part of our lives must reflect Christ.  Our hearts must be fixed on God! (If you look in the mirror, do you see Jesus?)

You are What You Eat so Crave God.

In our health conscious world, from keto to naturopaths, coaches and trainers, we are told “what you eat matters”. In order to keep eating healthy, a person has to refuse the cravings, bypass the golden arches, delete the Uber app, ignore the pizza flyer. We have to relearn to delight in the greens.

If you don’t know your “why” for healthy living, your cravings for salt, sugar, fat will overrule your choices every time, and your results to move from flab to firm will be limited.

In the Kingdom, our daily Bread is essential. When we value, cherish and consume the Word daily, our spirits will grow, and we will remain steady in truth to accelerate upwards in glory to glory.

To do this, our consumption must be singular.  Daily, we must crave God above all else and deny everything else in this One pursuit.

As His Children, may we lean into the intentions of His heart and refuse the cravings of our fleshly desires.

Our why remains always, to love Jesus better than anyone else!

May our hearts be fixed on God today!  As we lean into His Arms, may our focused pursuit bring His glory!
