In about two weeks, 2010 would have come to an end. For some of us, life would have planned out exactly as planned; and for some, not so quite. And it is not your fault. You tried to do things right, make it happen but it just didn’t quite fall in place the way you wanted it to. You feel disappointed, let down and maybe even like a failure. Your heart is broken and you are struggling to keep your hope afloat. Some of us have taken permanent residence at this place of hopelessness. And as clichéd it may sound, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I am not writing to put a band-aid over your heart but sometimes it’s the little things that we forget that can change how we feel and deal with circumstances.
First, above all things, know who you are in Christ. The one thing the enemy has over us is that he knows who we are. He knows that we are more than conquerors and sadly, he also knows that if he can manage to confuse us of our identity in Christ, we would live like people who only made it halfway. We are in this for the long haul! If you think you are weak, then you are the perfect candidate for God to perfect His strength through. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9a.
FIGHT to keep your identity!
We ALL are called. Mark 3:13 – 14a tells us, 13 And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. 14 Then He appointed twelve… You may have been called but unless and until your response is not appropriate, there will not be an appointing. The disciples’ response to Jesus’ call determined their appointment. Heed to the sound of His voice. The promises spoken over you and given to you are not going to unfold themselves. They are meant for you but He will not entrust something to anyone who does not display the character to handle it.
FIGHT to answer your calling!
Be passionate, not perfect. This has been resounding in my spirit for the last few days. We want everything to be perfect and when it isn’t the way that we wanted it, we think that it is the end of the world. I don’t know about you but most of the times, I already have a plan in my mind and more often than not, it is not what God has planned for me. Take your dead dreams and broken heart to the altar where one of two glorious things might happen; either your dream will be revived or consumed and replaced with what is on His mind. Don’t stop seeking!
FIGHT to keep your passion burning!
And finally , FIGHT! Let me tell you this. When you accepted Christ, you enrolled yourself into an army. Not a passive one but one that is fighting continuously. This army does not fight man but powers and principalities, and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. The difficult times in your life may not necessarily be the result of something done wrong but rather, because you have now started living it right, hell is giving you a lot of attention. Don’t quit. Your breakthrough is just around the corner. Endure!
FIGHT to keep your faith alive!
This is a fight! And if you look around, you will see many like yourself. All part of this army. All fighting for something. You are not fighting for victory but you are fighting from a place of victory. Do what Paul did, fight the good fight, finish the race and keep the faith!
Are you up and ready for the fight?
