Cold-Blooded Murder: Confessions of a Believer!

[French Translation] [Spanish Translation] Life was zipping by in the fast lane. All was well. Ruby was still studying when she met her love of her life! She had everything a young woman could dream of. Soon they both were married.

Balanced between their honeymoon period and the rush of life, came their next big surprise. Though little in size, it was not something they were ready for – it was a baby.

Emotions swelled, fear crept in, anxiety increased. She had much education to complete still ahead. Her friends were all moving up the career ladder and were ‘making it big’. Her baby or her career? Why so soon? AHHH! she was now beginning to regret everything. She was too young for this, she believed.

Then that thought entered her mind. Take the easy way out. It would be easier to abort the baby than to abort her dreams. Seeing the stress that his wife was under, her equally burdened husband decided to support her with the move.

Few years later, she was done with her education and had established herself as an accomplished young lady. They felt they were now ready to have a baby. It did not take long to realize that something was not right. They tried for months together but she failed to conceive.

No treatments seem to help either. Almost a decade later – hope dwindled.

At this point, she met a missionary to whom she poured out her heart. She hoped they would pray for a breakthrough for them to have a child. But instead of praying, the missionary asked, “Have you repented to God for the murder?”

“Murder?” she questioned. She had been only few weeks old and the Doctor had said that it was ok. The missionary nodded her head sorrowfully, “One day, one week or a month does not matter, it was a life that Jesus planted inside you.”

Size is irrelevant to human personhood, as we know from the difference between a one-week-old and a six-year-old.

Hearing this, Ruby broke down crying. Sense kicked in. Yes, it was a baby. A real one. And she had killed it. A cold blooded murder, in the actual sense. For at that time they had no feelings of regret whatsoever.

After much repentance, she came back home to her husband. She narrated what happened. Conviction burst in her husband’s heart as well, “Yes, we did murder our baby. And we had not repented of that sin.” Both knelt down again and wept for a long time before God asking for His mercy.

Thankfully, Jesus still forgives, saves and loves because Jesus is still alive! In the ever loving arms of their Savior, they felt redeemed. To make the long story short, in a month’s time they got the news of their life! She was pregnant! It was a celebration of life and the forgiving power of Jesus.

Hearing this story was another mother who chipped in. “Oh, your story is nothing”, she said. “We’ve had 3 abortions. My husband and I were not prepared and my hubby thought it was best to abort the baby.” Shocked at what they were hearing, another lady quizzed her, “Did you not feel bad?” “Oh, everybody does it,” she replied. She went on to have children later in life and lived as if nothing happened, not understanding that they had murdered – in cold blood – three innocent precious gifts from God.

However, Ruby and her husband believe that God in His mercy shut the womb, simply to open their eyes to the truth for which they are forever grateful. They now live a blessed life with two great children!

But what troubles me is that there are people like the other woman, who’ve done that and yet live without any repentance and have hid their story under the carpet of circumstance.

We forget that fetal surgery is performed on babies in the womb to save them while another child the same age is being legally destroyed.

Here’s two things I want to say, if you are young and God has blessed you with a baby [IRRESPECTIVE OF YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES] remember, it is because God trusts you with the baby. What is happening in your womb is the unique person-nurturing work of God. Therefore only God has the right to give and take life.

Don’t ever abort your baby – the life God is trusting you with. He will give you the grace to see you through this phase of your life!

Secondly, if you have already committed the sins we just read above – the sin of abortion, I hope this post will make you go on your knees, both you and your husband and if you are still single, I hope you go on your knees by yourself before Jesus, and repent with all your heart!

Jesus is a kind and compassionate Savior, ask Him to forgive you and He will forgive all your sins! He cares for you.

I want you to then believe with me, the best is yet to come! May God bless your heart.
