The Sparrows in the Storm

"Experience the Word of God, in the power of the Spirit."

April 7, 2011

This day, a year ago, we got married. How quickly has time passed! Thanks to our friends, we got to get away and take some time to thank the Lord on our first wedding anniversary.

I also remember the shaky times. The times when I was not sure about how things would be. Where the finances would come from? How would I take care of everything? Dealing with people’s opinions and expectations are not easy. Adding to it, were the cultural challenges that stood in between our convictions and our future.

During that time, we decided to seek God’s face. The Lord blessed me with a beautiful vision. In that vision, I had seen two sparrows in a storm. And those two sparrows were rescued and were safely resting in a hand.

I did not want to forget it. I wished someone could draw that for me. I tried searching for similar images on Google but did not succeed. Finally I managed to stitch two images together to get an image that was closest to that vision. We both had it on our computers as a wallpaper to remind us that no matter how big the storm is, we are safe in His hands.

Here is that image:

After the storm

Dear Friend,

Remember the words from the Bible, “The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.(Deuteronomy 31:8) All that you need to do is be still in God and see the great things that the Lord will do for you. Enjoy that perfect peace that comes from staying your heart on Him.

Speak out loud with David, “The LORD is my light and my salvation–whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life–of whom shall I be afraid?(Psalm 27:1)

I hope that the next time you go through hell and high water, you remember this picture.
