"Experience the Word of God, in the power of the Spirit."

January 31, 2009

This entry is part 2 of 2 in the series Praying Generation

Can I talk to my praying generation? I feel like sharing something that God is personally teaching me.

Jesus was led by the Spirit! WOW! Jesus was led to seek God! WOW! In fact He fasted for 40 long days seeking God!

But then the Bible says that Jesus was tempted by the evil one as soon as He finished His fast. But now not only was He led but He was empowered by the power of the Spirit, says the Word of God. Wow! And what happened after the 40 days of being set apart? Jesus was rejected in Nazareth!

This was His first conference after being led by the Spirit. His first conference after being empowered by the Spirit and there He was, facing controversy, questioning, and rejection! Does that mean He failed? ABSOLUTELY NOT! He was right in the will of God. Some of us have prayed long enough and hard enough for specific things to happen in our lives,  instead what we didn’t expect happened. Maybe your visa got rejected, or was it a job that meant financial security or maybe it was a girl, the love of your life, and now you’ve been left with nothing but the same old temptations and rejections.

Rejected, Yet..

Rejected, yet Jesus was fulfilling His destiny in God. Similarly, remember when you are wondering what is happening with you in spite of all the prayer and fasting, God wants to speak to your spirit, Mighty Warrior saying, “Do not give up, for My good plans are unfolding in your life.”

Continue to knock at the doors of heaven. There is hope. As you hold on, you are going to see things what our previous generations have not seen.

Being in the Will of God

Jesus while speaking in Nazareth, spoke something powerful that you need to be reminded of. There were many widows in Nazareth yet Elijah was not sent to any of them but to a widow in Zarephath. And there were many in Israel with leprosy in the time of Elisha the prophet yet not one of them was cleansed – except Naaman the Syrian. (Luke 4).

Remember this is how it is going to be with us, that just because we pay a price in the Presence of God does not mean that a hundred things must happen. Instead, I want to be there ready and available when that one thing that God planned to happen through me, so when the rest of the 99 things that I wanted and people expected does not happen, my spirit shall not be upset but rejoice in the fact that I am still in the will of God.

Therefore, my dear friends who are after the heart of God, continue to seek God. Pursue Him! Decide in your heart: whatever happens or does not happen after that shall not touch my spirit. I will continue to be in the plan of God, fulfilling the destiny He has set on me every minute, no matter where I am!

Question: Did you relate to this post? What did it speak to you? Wanna share below?
