I got to blog about this the other day on my personal blog.
But I thought this will be an interesting exercise to try with GTH readers.
Jump right into the video with Matt Cutts:
If for some reason you could not follow the video, here’s the gist of it:
Anything you do continuously for 30 days becomes a habit.
So the challenge here is to do something you have always wanted to cultivate as a habit in your life. The speaker in the video tries new things like taking a memorable picture daily, writing 1000 words of a novel, and quiting his sugar intake for 30 days.
The idea is to do it persistently for 30 days, thus forming a habit.
Great leaders are so because of the great habits they’ve developed over a period of time by disciplining themselves.
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Cor. 10: 31
Action Plan:
Now I want to encourage (or even push, a bit) the GTH community to try and develop a habit you would like to incorporate in your life. It could involve anything, including healthy lifestyle or spiritual discipline practices. Think about the fruitful things or activities that you want as a part of your life.
Accountability:
You are not alone. I want you to hold me accountable as I hold you accountable here! I’m going to join you in this 30 day challenge with my list of habits I’d like to cultivate.
Here’s what my list says:
- Stay away from any use of a keyboard for the whole month. (Doctors have had advised me to rest my wrist but obviously I have not been doing it. I’m hoping that this will help me in developing a good strategy to delegate my online work).
- Read the Bible ‘first thing’ in the morning. (Obviously after brushing…)
- Read a minimum of one chapter of any book daily.
- Reduce sugar intake with coffee by one sachet.
Alright, now it’s your turn. Begin by writing down your objectives below in the comments section and let the GTH community be an encouragement and motivation.
Go ahead and dare to do it. The Lord will certainly be for the betterment of our lifestyle for His glory.
P.S: Here’s your opportunity to guest post for the next 4 weeks on our ‘Simple Sunday Posts’ as Shyju’s fingers rest. Send in creative pics, videos and a 300-400 words of encouragement or thought provoking ideas along with it. The top four posts will be selected for our guest posts. Send it today!
