Finding Answers When the Storms Just Keep Coming

Shyju Mathew

"Experience the Word of God, in the power of the Spirit."

June 20, 2019

Dear friends, this is a subject much covered in the Body of Christ. Nevertheless, the Spirit is urging us to share this critical subject again. Therefore. make up your mind today, that you will not make God repeat Himself. If God has to repeat Himself, you are not listening.

Storms come and storms go, but how we respond, rather than react, determines the increase of grace and authority in our lives.

Consider some examples of faith or faithlessness from the gospel of Matthew:

MAT 8:23-27 – And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. And they went and woke him, saying, “Save us, Lord; we are perishing.” And he said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marvelled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?”

When He got into (______________Insert your town here), (_____________Insert your name) followed Him. And behold there arose a great problem in their (Pick one: family, work, health, finances, relationships) so that their life was swamped by problems but Jesus was asleep.

So they woke up Jesus and said “we are perishing!” and Jesus asked, “Why are you afraid? O you of little faith.”

Beloved, God’s Kids are not allowed to be afraid, even if the waves are in the boat.

Matthew 17:14 -18 – And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to him and, kneeling before him, said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he has seizures and he suffers terribly. For often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. And I brought him to your disciples, and they could not heal him.” And Jesus answered, “O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and the boy was healed instantly.

Hear Jesus’ cry: How long am I to be with you, that you would not trust Me and take Me at MY WORD?

Math 17: 19-20 – Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

When they come to (_______________ insert your town here) a believer came up to Him and kneeling said, Lord have mercy on my life, Often the demons are attacking, too long and I brought Him to the Church and Pastor (__________Insert pastor’s name here) couldn’t….

How long am I to be with you? How long? Bring Him to me…Dear saint of God, how long should God wait before your faith manifests?

Mathew 6:25-34 – Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Are you not more valuable than sparrows or the grass of the field? I tell you if God takes care of the least, how much more will He take care of your family, your children?
O you of little faith.

STOP THE WORRY. If the enemy can get you to confess your fears, he knows your doubt can abort what is growing inside you! Your words have power! What you speak can release life or death into your situation. What are you saying right now about the storm in your life today? Are you declaring life or death?

STOP INSULTING THE GRACE OF GOD ON YOUR LIFE.
SPEAK LIFE!!!

Faith will provoke you to speak life. Faith will decree what you don’t see but what you KNOW of your GOD! By faith, decree your children shall pass all their classes and be favoured and distinguished in their school. By faith, celebrate your husband to enjoy a promotion. By faith in God, be assured, though the water may be rising in the bottom of the boat, it is nothing compared to the force of your expectation in His Goodness and Faithfulness for your life!

Friend, fear doesn’t attract God. Fear attracts the devil.

Faith attracts God.

Whatever you are confessing right now is either accelerating demons or angels to come near to you. You feed the devil with anxiety in life and he will do his very best to keep you anxious. If you believe and confess your fears and doubts, you reap their sorrows. When you believe and confess God’s goodness over your life, certainly, you will be saved, as you sow and reap a harvest of faith and hope in your MIghty God! Therefore, Beloved, refuse to let your heart to race with fear. If your heart is racing, then refuse to speak until His peace surpasses your perspective.

CONSECRATE yourself to God.

Greater sacrifice brings greater blessing. To be a friend of God, you must lay down everything. That is challenging but it’s who we are called to be.

Matthew 14:28-32 And Peter answered him, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water.” He said, “Come.” So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came to Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me.” Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS. YOU CANNOT MAKE IT IF YOU TAKE YOUR EYES OFF JESUS AND LOOK AT THE WIND.

When he saw the wind, Peter was afraid.

Friend, tell me, when you see the bank account, are you afraid? How about the doctor’s report or the grades?

Like us, when Peter was walking towards Jesus, he KNEW all things were possible. It was when he got distracted, saw something fearful, that Peter sunk and was kindly rescued by Christ.

Beloved friend, what are you looking at? Remember Who is in the boat, that even if there is water in the boat, you will stay afloat. As a child of Jesus, you are BANNED from freaking out. With Faith, you must look at the waves and say hello, and remain unmoved because you KNOW who your GOD is and WHERE HE IS —- Right at your side!

We don’t represent my Father when we freak out, give in to the anxiety, cave to worldly responses, and forget Whose we are. Beloved, please your Father in Heaven and rise up and speak to the waves rising today and declare, “Be Still: I KNOW My GOD will Save me!

THE BEST IS YET TO COME!
