Breakthrough for Believers – Part 2: The Place of Transformation

On January 29, 2020, Pastor Shyju Mathew, Founder of Revive Nations envisioned a life cycle of a butterfly in prayer. First, he saw a caterpillar come out of an egg, then the caterpillar, the cocoon and finally, the butterfly. The Man of God declared the caterpillar had been our recent season, as across nations, the Church gained momentum, emerging with new legs, movement and life. Then, as COVID19 roared into nations, the Spirit moved with this response…

Like the caterpillar, after it gains its movement, the church has faced confinement, as gatherings across the nations are suspended. How this time of isolation affects believers across the world will depend on our faith. Could it be, that in this season of hiding, we are being readied for transformation?

Practically speaking, a caterpillar who resists its next stage, who refuses the cocoon will die and not reach its capacity. Yet the caterpillar who submits to the hiding place, will emerge transformed, ready for flight, a beautiful testimony of the power of metamorphosis, the power of God.

O beloved, don’t die before your destiny is fully revealed. You are made to fly!

If you resist this season of isolation, this season of abiding before the living God, you will miss your opportunity for transformation.

When a caterpillar weaves its silken pupa, in that place, he isolates himself and withdraws: right there in the depth of himself, you will see something happening! He is being transformed.

When the caterpillar weaves himself in the silk, the skin that has covered it becomes its shell. Now the worm starts dying inside that shell. It releases an enzyme which liquifies everything surrounding it, including all its muscles, cells, and tissue. The enzyme melts everything except its breathing tubes and its discs.

This is a wonder. The caterpillar’s death is the butterfly’s birth.

Beloved, the enemy may have tried to scatter the Church, but you are NOT dependent on the circumstance around you. Allow the enzymes of the Word of God to touch us, to cut through us, to burn us, with His glorious double-edged sword. Let the Word of God melt away our flesh in this season.

The best of us are being tested in this difficult season. The enemy is pushing all the buttons possible to scatter you but the Word is coming, to cause your flesh, your carnal nature to melt away as you abide in Him.

In this season, you may give in to your carnal nature and enjoy the sin life but you will not become transformed.

Change is non-negotiable. When this season is over, the opportunity to become what God has destined you for will have expired.

The caterpillar will never reach its full potential if he refuses to enter the pupa. He will die in its present state. The caterpillar doesn’t understand there is a new life. They cannot know, unless they die in this stage. There must be new wine in a new wineskin.

Beloved, God is inviting you in a deeper chamber in this season. The Holy Spirit is raising up generals, warriors of God in this season. As you begin to hear and respond, rest in the Lord. Let His Word work your transformation. Struggle not against the process. Abide in Him, deeper and deeper, so the work of this season may accomplish its purpose.

This is the Metamorphosis of the Holy Spirit. From death, comes resurrected life.

Verily I say to you, unless a kernel of corn fall to the ground and die: Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. (John 12:24)

As you die to your flesh, as you die to impatience, to anger, to things that have eaten you up in the past, as you give up, as you surrender to Jesus, as you say, “Lord forgive me for my sins, I want to please You”, may you abide deep in Christ.

Rest in Him, dear saints. Let His Nearness be your greatness. As you rest in Him, in the grace of God, you will NOT be scattered. You will understand. Just as the pupa’s enzymes dissolved the muscles and tissues to become one with the process, so you too, will melt into Christ. As you let Him work within you, like Enoch, you will walk with God.

This is metamorphosis: you’re coming out to being a better human being.

You will appreciate life like never before. You will appreciate people. You will appreciate having a building where the Church can worship the Lord together.

The Lord is inviting somebody to this new season today.

And the Spirit of the Lord will come upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man. (1 Sam 10:6)

Beloved, when the Spirit of the Lord comes upon you, like Saul, you will do what you are assigned to do. When you become one with the Lord, you will bear much fruit.

When enzymes are released and the caterpillar willingly surrenders to the death of his current state, it becomes one, as everything that was known liquifies except for a tunnel of breath, that narrow tube used for breath.

People of God, the only thing that remains is the Wind, the breath of God, our Holy Spirit.

The breath of God shall turn us into completely different people, where people look at you and think, this cannot be the same person. The devil and some of his people would live to talk about your past but there is a grace the Lord Jesus will release upon you, when you become consumed by the Spirit of God, where the Word of God becomes one within you.

Let the Word go deep into your spirit. You will be turned into someone whom you never thought was possible, someone whom God can use for His Glory.

It is crucial you know what stage you are in, dear friend. All across the world, nations are huddled in isolation. In this season, God is claiming your undivided attention. He is claiming you. Will you hear Him?
