Victory has Been Given to You
Now Jericho was shut up inside and outside because of the people of Israel. None went out, and none came in. And the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and mighty men of valor. You shall march around the city, all the men of war going around the city once. Thus shall you do for six days. Seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. And when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, when you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout, and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and the people shall go up, everyone straight before him.Joshua 6:1-5

God has given you the Victory
First, look at the reaction of the enemy: Now Jericho was shut up inside and outside because of the people of Israel .(1) Victory has been given into your hand. It’s not that God hasn’t answered your prayer. Though you may not yet have the blessings in your hand, in the realms of the spirit, your victory has already happened.
There is a Jericho fortress that has been built, a mighty stronghold, that has locked you out for more than a century. Wealth that was supposed to come to your family has been blocked for decades. Yet, the Lord says, See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and mighty men of valor. (2) It might not feel like your breakthrough has arrived, but we have a speaking God, therefore, the victory is yours!
See! You have laid siege to the enemy. You have circled the enemy. The enemy is in trouble because your victory has already been given. By faith, can you see it?
Momentum is Required
Once you see the victory, sustained momentum is needed. To defeat an enemy, you must first draw near and gather your information. Like Abraham, you have to walk to and fro (Genesis 13:15). After you correctly size up the strengthsand weaknesses of the enemy, then, you by the Spirit, you then determine how to war. For a city locked tight, you might need an iron boulder, something that you can take and ram at those iron doors. You may ram at it one time. And then you ram at it the second time. And on the third time, that which has been locked out for you for centuries, flings wide open!
With every battle, you need to ask, what do I need to break open my destiny? You will have to start weighing this before the Lord, by asking what must I do? Once known, don’t stop until victory is in your hands.
Only the Courageous Need Apply
Undoubtedly, there are many formulas for victory in the realms of the spirit. Every formula is important.
Now in this scenario, Jericho was shut up with no access. God tells Joshua, only take seven priests and the men of war. Leave everyone else behind. To have victory, not everybody can do this: you need a group of people with confidence of victory in their God! Only warriors whose hearts are courageous need compass the city.
In fact, some believers lack the capacity to build momentum for six days.
If you see a mighty General of God, this is their formula: they’ve discovered that they just need to hold on till the seventh day. They have done everything to create momentum for those six days in order to reap the seventh day. Six days they war, seventh day, victory is in their hands.
Fly High by the Spirit
Just as a plane does not take off while idling on the runaway, so you cannot fly in the Spirit without momentum. Indeed, the spiritual realm is a zone where everything is charged. Everything in the spiritual realm travels at great speeds because nothing is dormant.
If you have grown weary, if your heart has grown cold in the fight, your spirit may be dormant. Like lethargy in the physical, you may be unable to move things the way you’re supposed to move. You can say a prayer, but without the momentum of faith, when your heart is full of fear, worry and unbelief, those prayers will fall flat to the ground. Victory requires momentum!
To build momentum,you must begin to go around everything that is dead with the eyes of faith.
When you start compassing something that is impossible in the invisible realm, you start creating a whirlwind.
There is a spiritual force you need to bring this fortress down. As you build momentum by faith, the Holy Spirit will give the formula you need for each and every situation. Every solution is within you, through Christ in you!
Six Days God worked, Seventh Day, Rest
And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. Genesis 2:2
Six days God created. Seventh day, God put everything into motion and rested.
You see, victory does not happen on the seventh day. As Joshua obeyed the Lord’s instructions and they encompassed Jericho, Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Day 4, Day 5,Day 6, with each day, they were creating their victory in faith. The seventh day was the just the day of victory in their hand.
Surely this is why the enemy fights our faith! With total confidence in God, there are no limits to what we’re capable of by the force of the Holy Spirit!
Build momentum in every area of your life – it won’t be long before you and your family go through every door!
