Unadulterated You!

There are many things that we go through during our time on earth that leave a lasting impression on the very nature of who we are. Bishop T.D. Jakes once even said in his message, “When you marry someone, you are also marrying their past.” It is a fact that we all have baggage that accompanies us wherever we go; all sort of good and bad things that we have collected along life’s journey.

Gold does look like gold when it has got all kinds of impurities in it. But sooner or later, it’s going to show and its real value will be discovered. It will never live up to the value that it could have otherwise lived up to. The more the impurities in the gold, the lesser will be the price value of it.

Are you that girl who will never have a close friend again because of what another trusted friend did to you? Or, are you that Pastor who will always doubt his fellow believers because of one believer who hurt him? And I hope that you are not that unforgiving wife because of all her painful past.

What attitude has defined you? What words spoken by people have held you bound? What bad circumstance has limited you from daring to do new things? What hurts have caused you to behave the way you do? What controls your emotions?

If your today’s actions are a sum result of your yesterday’s fears and past pains, then you are living an adulterated life.

Your actions = Yesterday’s fears + Past pains

Result: Adulterated you

I encourage you to give it a thought and figure out what you are made of. Is there any bitterness or hurt that’s is stopping you from your real destiny? Is there anything hindering you from answering your true calling?

I understand that your pains are real. But it is only you that can make the choice to accept the change that the power and love of God can bring to your heart and mind. Let’s live life in the fullness that God wants us to live in. Don’t wait another night to soar on the wings of an eagle!

What stops you the most from going to where God wants you to be?
