Day 3: DO NOT LET YOUR DESIRE OVERTAKE YOU

Psalm 106:14 In the wilderness their desires ran wild, testing God’s patience in that dry wasteland.

The Scriptures say “They lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tried to restrain God with their insistent desires.” (AMP)

There is a place where you can grow in God and your desires are easily met. But as long as your flesh is ruling and your fear of God is abated by your desires, you are in a most dangerous place.

Maturing in God will cause all things of God to follow you.

When you grow to maturity, people will search for you. For example, when David was away in the fields with the sheep, Prophet Samuel came seeking the next king, and waited until David was brought before him ( 1 Sam 16:10).

If you can grow in the Lord, people will find your name, your phone number, your address. Instead of saying, ” Give, give!”, can we choose to grow into maturity? The ‘give me’ tendency is Luciferian, the spirit of a prodigal.

A true son doesn’t go asking for his inheritance because he is assured of what is already his. He instead, grows into his inheritance.

God wants you to come to a place of rest where everything He makes, comes to you like a magnet.

If the people of God grow to maturity, kings and queens will come searching for you. Like in Daniel’s day, the queen of the land will send people for you. The queen will say, ‘I don’t have what it takes. Even though I am royal, I don’t have what it takes to help my king, so Daniel, come here and help my king!’ (see Daniel 5).

As you grow in the Lord, may you draw nations to the Light!

Pray: Lord, forgive me for demanding Your Hand instead of trusting Your Heart. May I mature and grow into my inheritance as Your child.

Tomorrow, join us as we focus on internal growth and maturing in God.
