Hello GTH Family! Here is Part 6 of this power-packed series, ROOTED, our guiding Word for 2021 at Revive Nations. To access the whole series, click here. Part 5 was all about attracting the Anointing of God! Today, we look at what it takes to access the Voice of God in our life. We celebrate Prophet Shyju Mathew, Founder of Revive Nations, who has released these tremendous Keys from Heaven, in this glorious season as we learn how to grow deeply rooted in Christ!
Earlier in this series, we looked at the time when Jesus walked with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. It says, in Luke 24: 16: But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
Here disciples of Jesus were walking with Jesus, hearing from Jesus, for hours! And yet it says that, their eyes were held, so that they would not see him!
Now those two disciples from Emmaus, they were Jesus-loving disciples.
They could see Jesus right before their eyes, yet without seeing and without understanding. How is this possible?
In Matthew chapter 13: 13, Jesus said: Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing, see not; and hearing, they hear not, neither do they understand. In Matthew 13:15, the Lord further explained: “For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them” (KJV)
Hearing is all about the state of the heart!
If our hearts grow cold, proud, waxed gross, our eyes remain blind, and like the disciples, we can see but not see, hear, but not hear, and as our ears are waxed, our hearts are like hearts of stone. Hearing God is entirely dependent on the state of our heart!
Listen to the conversation of these disciples, just three days after Christ’s death:
“Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?”
And he said to them, “What things?”
And they said to him, “Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people, and how our chief priests and rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him. But we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened. Moreover, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning, and when they did not find his body, they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive. Some of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said, but him they did not see.” (Luke 24: 18-22)
If you notice their confession, you can see there’s a problem. They’re accusing God!
There’s a doubt there. These two disciples are saying, “Hey, we expected this, but it was not so.” Despite hearing news of his resurrection, they confessed doubt instead, and now, despite the Christ walking at their side, they cannot even recognize Him.
In this season of growing deeper, of being rooted in Christ, we need to remove every wax, slay our pride, rebuke the confusion, refute old experience and refuse to remain in old understanding.
As we humble ourselves before God, may we see and hear the Voice of God with better sight than ever before!
